TAP URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR HELP

PLEASE HELP US!!

This has been our most trying rescue ever, and we need your help immediately to keep going.

On July 18th we agreed to rescue a pit bull momma and her 6 infant puppies, who were approximately 2-3 weeks old. Upon our transporter arriving, we were called and told the Devore shelter staff were preparing to euthanize another family, a shepherd mix with her 5 puppies, who were approximately 12 days old. We also rescued a young terrier, as well as a pomeranian. We saved 15 dogs total, however, the runt of the pit litter passed away. :(

The pit mom is a former bait dog who has suffered and been neglected for too long; she was so infested with fleas her skin is raw, her hair fell out, she's anemic, emaciated, and overall unhealthy. Even after all of that, she still is able to trust humans and not just accept our love, but she is eager for it.

Her puppies are in terrible condition. They were so infested with fleas their mouths were white, including their tongues. They're dehydrated, and have severe URI's. They are covered in welts and sores, and have started to lose chunks of fur like their mom has. Their fleas were embedded so deep we spent dozens of hours pulling them out with tweezers. We had to bathe them all twice per day, too.  The puppies need blood transfusions, but could not have it done until the fleas were gone. We removed as many as we can, and now we need their transfusions done.

The shepherd mom has the worst eye infection where green puss is coming out of them, and she can barely open her eyes. We've spent close to $250 on her medication alone, but she could really benefit from some antibiotic injections to help boost her system. Her puppies also have URI's and will all require medication as well.

Our foster for the pit mom, selflessly stepped up to take in both families to save their lives, but we all knew we would need to do some work to help her accommodate both families. She has a very large finished garage where we need to do work, and she can help us save even more dogs. This is an immediate need, however. We have found large kennels for roughly $300 that we need money for, and we also need a volunteer to help deliver them and set-up, if possible. Furthermore, she has a majority of the work done, but needs help to finish dropping the ducts in for AC and Heat, this will provide the dogs with a temperature controlled environment. Can you help - do you know anyone who can help? PLEASE ask around, this is urgent. Our foster is struggling, Lori (our cofounder) has been staying with the foster to help her out. With the help and generosity of others, if we're able to get this labor work done, we will be able to save many more dogs like this. Our foster is willing to donate this large space, if we're able to get the work done. Please, please, help us make this happen.

Lastly, we are still needing donations of various items:
Towels, Blankets, Beds, Crate Pads/Liners, Wash Rags, Paper Towels
Crates, Kennels, Carriers, Dog Runs
Medications, Supplements, Shampoo (regular, flea, and medicated), Flea, Tick, and Parasite Prevention, Puppy Formula/Milk Replacement
Food, Treats, A/D Critical Care Canned Food, CliniCare Liquid, NutriCal paste, Pill Pockets, Raw Liver (for the anemic moms)
Toys, Bowls, Collars, Harnesses, Leashes, Potty Pads
Bottled Water (for puppy formula), Bottles, Syringes, Brushes, Combs, Tweezers, Q-tips, Cotton Balls, Bandages
....and anything else you can think of!!

At this time, we are faced with thousands of dollars in medical bills and accommodations for these rescued families. We are begging for all of you to please help share this, and to help us get donations, in addition to helping us to find volunteers to assist in the delivery and construction of large kennels, as well as the duct-work for air conditioning.

While we have rescued countless 'normal' dogs, we focus on abused, injured, neglected, and otherwise special needs dogs. Below are some of the dogs we have saved, and dogs who are deserving of a second chance -- of knowing love and trust.

PIT MOM AND PUPPIES
(You can see her scars, and the damage from the flea infestation)

(This is AFTER removing hundreds upon hundreds of embedded fleas from her head - Embedded fleas do not come off even when dead, you can't scrape or comb them off, they must be removed with tweezers...We spent every night doing this, sitting up until 6-7am pulling fleas out of these babies)

SHEPHERD MOM AND PUPPIES
(you can see the puss coming from her eyes)
