We both came from the same shelter, but were rescued on different days. We were going to be euthanized, but were fortunately saved. We're so very thankful for our rescuer. Thank you so much for saving us, Erin!

We are so happy in our foster home playing together with all of our fun toys.

From once being homeless to living in a cage, it's so nice to have soft and warm places to sleep.

Some may even call us spoiled (those people are silly)!

We are working on learning tricks, but we'd much rather play, eat, and sleep!

We even have coats to keep us warm now when we go outside!

They sure were nice when it was raining.

We get along so well, we really would love if someone could take the both of us home. :)

If you'd like to take us home with you and spoil us rotten, call our foster mom, Lori at 949.481.0033. You can also send her an EMAIL

Our foster mom says she's in no rush because she wants to find us the perfect home. Someone who has the time to take us for walks, rides, and to the dog park. Someone who will keep us current on our vaccinations, check-ups and grooming (you can wash us yourself, we are naturally cute and don't need fancy hair-do's). Someone who will have us as indoor pets only, we don't want to live outside ever again! Someone who will keep us no matter how their life may change, even if they get a new job, move, or have a baby. Our foster mom says that people who have never owned a dog but are interested, should get allergy tested first, so that they don't find out the hard way and put their doggy through stress by getting rid of them. Our foster mommy says we're the best and cutest boys ever, and she's not biased, we'd know if she were! :)

A home check will be required prior to our adoption, but don't worry, we don't need anything fancy. But we'd like somewhere safe to live, with a little room to play, and a secured yard, too. There's also an adoption contract you will need to fill out before you bring us home with you, in addition to a very reasonable adoption fee (which will have a generous discount if you take us both)! We love kids, but would probably do best living with older kids. We're pretty small, and sometimes little kids can accidentally hurt us. We don't know if we like kitty cats yet, we've never met one before.

Thank you for reading about us and looking at our pictures. We hope to meet you soon and bring you as much happiness as we've brought to our foster mommy!

With Love,

Max

Meet Max

Status: Adopted!

Name: Max (I'd really love a new name)
Gender: Male
Nicknames: Morrissey (some 80's fans will get this one), Monkey, and "MY SOCK!"
Age: Approximately 3-4 months
Weight: Approximately 7 lbs
Breed: Unknown; Possible Dachshund, Poodle and Terrier Mix
Training:  Fully trained on potty pad indoors, goes potty outside on a leash (I'd say he's about 75% housetrained to go outside); leash trained - Needs further training for basic commands, crate, and doggy door if desired by owner.
Health: Excellent: Vaccinated, Dewormed, Neutered, and Microchipped
Maintenance: Low: No shedding; bi-weekly baths, brush (wired), clean teeth & ears weekly.
Pup-ality: Leader; Wants to be in the spotlight, very 'vocal' and 'talks' to you (tries his best), plays hard and sleeps harder! Very much a puppy still.

Special Needs or Requirements: "Max" still has his name from the pound and he would love a new name for his new life, none of us can come up with anything. After spending a significant amount of time with him, I am only going to place him in a home with Doshier or with another dog. Max goes into a bit of a depression without another dog and will cry if he is separated from his fur-friend. He also gets very moody without his fur-friend, which was the first time I've ever seen such behavior from a puppy (he literally growled at me for over an hour to let me know how unhappy he was, eventually falling asleep and waking up in a much better mood). He came to me after his furry companion was adopted and he was miserable, I was fostering another dog he had spent time with. After his tantrum of epic proportions, the next day they were inseparable and heavily bonded. I suspect he will do this with any dog, as he loves all dogs he meets. He, along with all dogs I rehome, will only be placed in homes that plan to keep him as an indoor dog only - forever.

Foster Notes: Max is a hilarious puppy, full of personality. He is still pretty young, so he takes a LOT of puppy naps. However, when he's awake, he's making the most of his time exploring and playing. Max loves to go for walks and would do wonderfully with an active human who loves to do the same. He is very social, does well with adults, older children, and friendly dogs of all sizes. He loves to cuddle and snuggle up to his furry friends for naps and bedtime. He enjoys going to the dog park to run around and play with other dogs. Right now he's been working on learning to sit and stay, which he's very attentive and eager to learn new things.

I'd love to see Max and Doshier go to a home together. Their personalities are completely opposite and it works beautifully, they balance one another out. Watching them play together is such a joy and when they nap, it's so adorable when they cuddle up together. Like with Doshier, he'd do best in a household where someone is home a lot. He would also love to be in a home with a secured yard and access to a doggy door.

If you feel like Doshier may be a good fit for you, please send me an email and leave your name and phone number. :)

Doshier

Meet Doshier

STATUS: Adopted!

Name: Doshier
Gender: Male
Nicknames: Dosh , Doshie
Age: Approximately 6 months
Weight: Approximately 8 lbs
Breed: Unknown; Possible Dachshund and Terrier Mix
Training: Fully housetrained to go potty outside, will use potty pads indoors if left alone; leash trained - Needs further training for basic commands, crate, and doggy door if desired by new owner.
Health: Excellent: Vaccinated, Dewormed, Neutered, and Microchipped
Maintenance: Low: Very little to no shedding; bi-weekly baths, brush (soft), clean teeth & ears weekly.
Pup-ality: Follower; Calm, Affectionate, Quiet; Eager to please

Special Needs or Requirements: After spending a significant amount of time with Doshie, I believe he'd do best in a home with another dog. He does get separation anxiety when left alone, so he'd be much happier in a home where someone stays at home, isn't gone too long, or can take him to work with them. Doshier was underweight when he was rescued, and needs to put on another 1-2lbs. He's still a bit insecure at feeding time, and my only guess is that he's not confident he will get another meal, so he won't eat all of his food and will also stash it (I call him squirrel sometimes). I normally make a trail of food leading to his bowl, and also mix in a high calorie wet food with his dry food. A harness as shown in the picture above is what Doshier will always need when on a leash (I also recommend these for all dogs under 40lbs). He, along with all dogs I rehome, will only be placed in homes that plan to keep him as an indoor dog only - forever.

Foster Notes: Doshier is a wonderful pup who is eager to please his humans. He does well with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and 'pupalities' as long as they're nice. He's a very sensitive little guy who confuses easily and gets his feelings hurt just the same. After being socialized and bonded, he competes for attention and will gently nudge his way through other dogs to the front of the line for your affection. He is a happy little boy and very grateful to have a loving home. Doshier did well with his potty and leash training, and I suspect he will do well with all other training, too. He is a star wherever he goes, and I haven't taken him anywhere without someone telling me he should be on TV (I admit, he does have the face for it). He loves to go for walks, car rides, to visit other people with dogs, and to the dog park. Doshier has never been left alone longer than 3 hours, and the time he was, he did not have any accidents inside.

Doshier would love to have a home with a secured yard and access to a doggy door (which he will need to be taught how to use). I believe he'd be very happy in just about any environment, with the exception of being around younger, loud, and/or rambunctious children (loud noises tend to stress him out/scare him).

If you feel like Doshier may be a good fit for you, please send me an email and leave your name and phone number. :)
